General overview

Come visit the less-explored, incredibly diverse region of inland Southern California. We are in proximity to such a variety of adventures for the outdoors type, and close enough for day trips or overnight trips to Las Vegas and Los Angeles for the city type. Our town is found in the Mojave Desert, surrounded by miles and miles of hills, mountains, sand dunes, and desert trails. Our home is situated in the perfect location in town! 2-5 minute drive to gas, groceries, and restaurants. 2 minutes in the other direction for numerous trailheads to hike the Rademacher Hills. Our little town is located perfectly for access to a HUGE variety of what California has to offer! All of the following could be a day trip (45 minute to 2.5 hour drive): Death Valley National Park (1.5 hours) Mount Whitney (1.5 hours) Sierra Nevadas (.5 hour) Kern River (1.75 hours) Manzanar (1.5 hours) Lake Isabela (1.25 hours) Bristlecone Pines (2 hours) Fossil Falls (.75 hour) Silverwood Lake (2.5 hours) Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear (2.5 hours) Trona Pinnacles (.75 hour) Los Angeles (2.5-3.5 hours) Beaches (2.5-3.5 hours) Disneyland (3 hours) And much more!

The space

Our home has four bedrooms: -Primary suite with king bed and bathroom with soaker tub and shower -Spacious living room open into dining room and kitchen -Office space with double bed -Playroom (which has also doubled as a homeschool space) -Kids room with two twin beds (and can add a third bed for a child) **Playroom can be converted to bedroom with air mattress. Our backyard has a very large lawn of artificial turf with massive pergola for shade. Behind the lawn is a large hill with steps and a seating area to look over the entire town as well as the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains to the West.

Guest access

Single story home with front door and garage access (we will leave a garage door opener for you). No stairs to access front door, but the driveway is steep. A door code will be provided to guests for the front door.

Notes

We have a gecko in a terrarium, a small aquarium, and rabbits in a hutch on the side of the house. All of our pets remain in their enclosures and are out of the way of guests. Guests can either agree to feed the animals (we will leave very clear directions for the feeding-- it's all simple!), or we have someone who will come daily.

Getting around

Within Ridgecrest there are taxis, busses, Uber, and Lyft, but we highly recommend a vehicle, as most activities in the area will require a drive. There are several car rental agencies in town, and we may be able to leave our Camry for you.
