General overview
Built in 2017, our sweet home is a modern farmhouse style just 5 miles north of downtown Bend and only 13 miles from the Redmond airport.
Just 15 minutes to downtown Bend, Drake Park, the Old Mill District and the Deschutes River Trail. In 40 minutes you can be at Mt. Bachelor, via the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway.
Paddle boarding and kayaking are popular at over 25 lakes along the Cascade Highway. Elk Lake and Cultlus Lake are two of our favorites (just a 30 to 40 minute drive from our house).
In just over 2 hours you can be at Crater Lake, one of the most pristine National Parks on earth!
Travel south 30 minutes and you'll be at Smith Rock State Park. The popular destination of Sun River is just 25 minutes south, and Black Butte Ranch is only a 35 minute drive.
We look forward to being your host and hope you will enjoy staying in our home and exploring the magical places in Central Oregon!
The space
This single level home has two lovely guest rooms separated by a hall bath with jacuzzi tub and tile surround. Everyone who stays here loves the jacuzzi tub and the privacy of these rooms.
Beds: Queen beds in each guest room. The first guest room has a cabinet Murphy bed which can be used as a bedroom or an exercise room (the queen mattress easily folds up into the cabinet to make a nice space for yoga or other activities).
There is a King bed in master bedroom with brand new Casper four-layer memory foam mattress...it's awesome!
New addition, as of December, 2022:
A door in the corner of the master, leads to pavers where our brand new Aquaterra Spa Montara 25-Jet 4-person Spa is located!
TV’s: 40” smart TV in each guest room and a
65” LG OLED ThinQ Smart TV in great room.
Internet: BendBroadband fiber optic, high speed internet service
We also have a Central Vacuum System with retractable hose - this is absolutely awesome!!!
The master bedroom is at the far end of the house, with double vanities, walk in shower, walk in closet and a large picture window with a view of the open back area called Juniper Ridge.
There are hardwood floors throughout with a large kitchen, 9' ceilings, and great room, gas range with two ovens, microwave, spacious gourmet refrigerator, custom cabinets, large island, and gas fireplace with white subway tile surround.
NOTE: If you like espresso or coffee you'll enjoy our new Philips Carina Superautomatic Espresso machine...it's the best on the planet :)
In the back yard there's a covered patio and pavers that lead to a cozy firepit, with adequate seating for outdoor dining and relaxation. Our transparent wire fence looks out to Juniper RIdge, a quiet setting of juniper trees, quail, deer and bunny rabbits.
Your kids and dogs will enjoy our year-round green lawn, as we just installed pet turf!
Guest access
Our house is single level, with fenced yard, covered patio, fire pit and pavers all around. The driveway has spots to park three vehicles, and a single spot inside the garage for a vehicle too.
In front, there is a covered porch with a small white fence, two window boxes with flowers, and a porch swing.
On the right side of our house there is a stairway leading to a small deck and a 600 sq. ft. attic apartment (bedroom with King bed, sofa, smart TV, washer/dryer, full kitchen and bathroom). This is available for exchange if not previously rented.
Notes
In the summer you’ll want to float or paddle board down the Deschutes river in Bend. We have 4 inner tubes and 2 paddle boards you are welcome to use...it’s a blast!
In the spring & fall there are many sunny, blue-sky, crisp days that you'll enjoy being outdoors for a bike ride or hike. Maps are available for eBike and Mountain Bike trails nearby.
In the winter you are less than an hour away from Mt. Bachelor for downhill skiing & snowboarding. And there are many snow parks that offer trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
We will provide a home guide that offers many suggestions for places to see, favorite restaurants, and other information that will make your stay comfortable and enjoyable!
We will leave you our local State park pass to use while you are visiting!

Neighbourhood
You’ll love our neighborhood!
It's a mix of young families, singles, and retired couples, very friendly and gracious.
We feel quite safe in this neighborhood called NorthPointe. It’s close to the Cascade Shopping Center (only 5 minutes to Trader Joe’s!), Hwy 97 and Hwy 20. And of course, we are only a few minutes away from downtown Bend’s amazing craft breweries, restaurants, and shops.
A new park on 2 acres, completed in 2022, is just a block from our house. Great for all ages, it's beautiful!
We love this end of town because it is quiet and close to so many fun areas.
Getting to my home
The Redmond Airport is just 13 miles away.
Upon arrival at the airport, travel South on Highway 97 to Cooley Road, turn left at the light. Google maps will guide you into our neighborhood, Northpointe.
If you are traveling by car from Portland it will take about 3 and a half hours to get here. You have a choice of driving over Mt. Hood or coming over the scenic Santiam Pass along the river.
Nearest airport
Redmond Airport, 13 miles North of our house
Getting around
If you don't have a car, public transportation (bus) is available at the Cascade Shopping Center, just 2 miles away (35 minute walk).
Uber and Lyft are also here for your convenience.
Bicycle paths are available throughout the area for easy access to parks and downtown businesses.

Susan
Ted and I are a married couple in our 60's, loving life in Bend, Oregon! Both semi-retired, Ted is a remodeling contractor and Susan is a gourmet cook, loves flowers and gardening, and has a computer software background.
We are experienced home exchangers with over 20 exchanges since 2019 on another platform, all 5 star reviews (references provided upon request).
We are new to PLU, and so far we've had a great experience! We hope to get to know more folks on PLU and coordinate many exchanges.
When it works out, we like to include our four year old Bernedoodle, Arnie, in our travel adventures (and also have the option of leaving him in the care of a friend).
