A Whole New Email System For People Like Us

Improving the reliability of notifications on our platform

Some changes we make are very visible, but this is one that you’ll hopefully never notice. 😂

We’ve spent the last couple of months beavering away in the background to improve our email service.

Why?

Because email notifications are an important way for us to let you know what’s happening on your profile and also in your People Like Us community. And, frankly, our old system wasn’t sufficiently reliable.

We’ve been quietly using our new system for the last 3 weeks and it’s humming along beautifully.

What does it mean for you?

Hopefully, nothing. 🙂

If you received emails before, this doesn’t change them.

But, if you ever have email problems, that’s where our new system excels.

If we have any problem sending you emails, we’ll let you know on your member profile, together with the error we’re getting. 

You can click on the error to clear it and retry.

We’re also using this information to deactivate non-Premium profiles where emails are permanently bouncing and they’ve been inactive. If we can’t contact them to let them know about your enquiry, we don’t want to waste your time!

Go to your email preferences page if you want to check or change the optional emails you receive from us.
