General overview

Our home has amazing views of the Tasman Bridge, River Derwent and Mount Wellington (BMW = Bridge, Mountain, Water). With lots of natural light and free flowing interiors, this property is a pleasure to come home to. We are within walking distance to the Clarence Aquatic Centre and Blundstone Arena, only 9 mins drive to the Hobart CBD and a few minutes drive to the Eastlands Shopping Centre and nearby restaurants. There is a lovely pathway for walking or bike riding that you can take either north or south along the river. We also have access to the Rosny Hill Reserve via our back gate.

The space

Our home has 3 bedrooms, the main with a king size bed, ensuite and a walk in wardrobe (recently renovated). The second with a king single bed and king single sized trundle. The third is mostly used as a study but does have a pull out double bed couch. The main bathroom is has a separate bath and shower. The kitchen, dining and living room is free flowing and the kitchen is only recently renovated. With heated tiled floors in the kitchen and dining room it is warm throughout the year. A small balcony comes off the dining area and it here where you can appreciate the beautiful area we live in. There is also a reverse cycle air conditioner in the living area. The bay window also takes in the views. Downstairs the rumpus room also has a separate toilet and is a great space for relaxing. Access to the remote controlled garage and the front section of the garden is also from this level.

Guest access

Our front entrance is mid level so there are stairs both up and down from the front door. All living areas and bedrooms are on the top floor with only garage, rumpus and separate toilet downstairs.

Neighbourhood

Hobart is the capital of Tasmania, the heart-shaped island off the south-east coast of Australia. Hobart is Australia's smallest state capital, with not much more than 200,000 inhabitants, and this makes it unhurried and easy to get around. It's the second-oldest of Australia's state capitals, with the wide and elegant Derwent River sweeping up from the Southern Ocean to cut Hobart in two, with the main city on the western side and smaller centres and suburbs on the east, while majestic Mt Wellington overlooks the city from the west. Our home is located between the airport and the CBD. Daylight saving from October through to March means long, light evenings for al fresco dining, walking, sailing, tennis, bike riding or whatever takes your fancy. Winter brings a snow capped Mt Wellington and the world famous Dark Mofo celebrations that get Hobartiams out and about, even on the coldest evening. Our home is a great base to explore nearby Richmond, the Huon Valley and New Norfolk and surrounds. Launceston is a 2 year drive and a visit to Bruny Island is a must if you are here for a few weeks.

Nearest airport

Hobart airport is about 15 minutes away.

Getting around

Our home on the Eastern Shore, just over the Tasman Bridge. There is a large shopping centre only 20 minutes walk from home. The CBD and Hobart waterfront and restaurants are a short drive from us so you can catch the ferry to MONA, dine at world class restaurants or have a simple dinner of fish and chips from one of the floating punts as you take in the beautiful sights of the Hobart harbour. With a simultaneous exchange the use of our car is certainly an option we are happy to discuss.
