General Overview
Our natural, architecturally designed, modern home is situated on a 2600m2 piece of land, with dozens of recently planted trees, a large garden with a cedar barrel sauna, BBQ and outdoor fire, and a chicken run providing fresh eggs daily. We built this environment-focused home 4 years ago, with the goal of being self sufficient and carbon neutral. The home was built with passive house principles using completely non-toxic, natural materials, including hempcrete, lime plaster, rammed earth and wool insulation. The property also has is a substantial solar and battery system, with an EV charging point (vehicle available by negotiation). This home is like no other. It is truly a joy to spend time in!
The Space
The home is split into two levels, with the ground floor containing two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and an open plan kitchen/dining/living (photos to come). The upper floor has a movie space with a projector and a yoga/stretching area that doubles as a work space. There is another bedroom and bathroom on this level that we usually keep private with our personal belongings.
Guest Access
A single step into the front door. Stairs to access the upper level.
Notes
We maintain a greenhouse and raised garden beds to grow veggies. We have a wonderful golden retriever dog and 6 low-maintenance chickens providing fresh eggs on a daily basis. Both the dog and chickens can be looked after independently or part of an exchange.
