Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is very walkable (flat), and you'll often see others walking with their dogs or children. The neighborhood is in the historic district and has mature beautiful trees and foliage during the spring, summer, and fall. You can also easily walk or bike to the heart of downtown (coffee shops, restaurants, etc) in no time. Or you can stay within a 5 minute walk and still get excellent Indian or Thai food, or pick up groceries from the local Star Market grocer. The other homes in the neighborhood range from funky to traditional, and you'll often find people on their porch waving as you walk by.
The cherry on top is that we are a 5 minute walk to the base of Monte Sano mountain where you'll find many hiking trails, biking trails, an art museum, and some waterfalls. Other mountains, cave and trail systems, epic waterfalls and watering holes are easily accessible within 1-1.5 drives.

Ashley
Hello! I am Ashley, and I often travel with my partner Misty. We are late 30's/40's couple who likes all kinds of travel. Ashley is a Virtual Assistant to busy executives and Misty works in healthcare (sometimes travel contracts). Our home base is in Huntsville, Alabama, where we have a very cute two bedroom home located in the historic district. Prior to this we've lived in San Francisco, CA and other cities like Santa Fe, NM, Boston MA and Honolulu HI. We LOVE experiencing local culture (food/markets/events) as well as being in the water or near the mountains.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
