Neighbourhood
The neighborhood is very close to the city center (even few people now say it's part of the city center!).
Next to "The Gay Village" commonly called The Village.
The neighborhood is a mix of new and old buildings that makes Montreal so charming.
You have the famous Jean Drapeau and Lafontaine parks within walking or cycling distance.
Everything you need is within walking distance: many restaurants on Ste Catherine Street (Le Village) or Ontario Promenade, a large Metro grocery store (2 min), cafes, bakery,...
The famous Plateau Mont Royal district is 15 minutes away by bus or bike. Olympic Staidum is 25 minutes by bike or 15 minutes by metro.
The metro to the city center (and more) is a 4 minute walk away. Many buses.
Mount Royal Mountain, Jean Talon Market, Olympic Stadium are 30 minutes away by bike or by metro/bus.
During the summer, rue Sainte-Catherine is only accessible on foot without cars for a large part, so it is very pleasant to walk. At this time you also have a place full of events and with a breathtaking view of the Jacques Cartier bridge (illuminated at night): Le pied du Courant. You can see the fireworks, hear the music, just relax on the sand, or grab some food from a food truck. it really is an event with a Montreal atmosphere. I love it.
The Village is a very dynamic and eclectic district, I like it :).
It is possible to park around but not always easy (I will help you).
The location is perfect for getting around by car with 2 major axes of Montreal (1 min ago): the Jacques Cartier Bridge (route 134) to get out of the city or even route 136 (Autoroute Ville Marie) to cross the city from east to west.
Nearest airport
Montreal Airport (YUL)
Getting around
Easy to transit anyway.
The metro is 4 minutes walk and many buses around.
The highways are just a short drive away.
Bike paths around.
Pedestrian district

"I would be "road tripping" in the Rockies around those dates and could be great if I can swap for few days / 1 week in a place .My condo in Montreal is really nice and July is the festival time :)"

"Je recherche un échange avec un chalet (pas besoin d etre luxueux :) au Québec : Laurentides, Cantons de l'Est, Lanaudière, Outaouais, voire même des destinations plus "exotiques" pour un montréalais (Charlevoix , Saguenay, Gaspésie,..)"
