General overview

We live on a large compound (essentially a gated community) with 24/7 security and its an extremely safe, comfortable, and inviting place to live. All families who live on our compound work for the same school so we're colleagues, neighbors, and friends! It's a very family friendly community and the kids run around together in a way that's sort of 1960's Americana... no one locks their doors, kids can roam from house to house, its a really lovely place for families.

The space

-3 floor home -living space on ground level -3 bedrooms with an en suite bathroom in each bedroom on the first level (one with bathtub) -- one room has a king, one room has a crib and single daybed, last bedroom has a crib and queen mattress on the floor (where we do bedtime stories but someone could certainly sleep there) -Playroom area and study nook on the first level off the playroom (playroom currently has my son's toddler bed there but that will eventually move to his room when he outgrows his crib) -4th bedroom on top level (where our nanny lives) with en suite bathroom (pictures not included, has a single bed) -Washer/dryer on top level -Rooftop patio on top level -AC units in each room; maintenance on call at all times for any issues with home

Guest access

-Lots of stairs (3 floors) -Key will be left hidden outside or with security for you to enter -24/7 security at front gate but entering and exiting is easy, especially if you are driving our car with the gate pass on the window

Notes

Our nanny lives with us and may be around at the time of your stay in our home. If she is there, she might be interested in doing extra babysitting (for pay) if you have kids and would want some help with them!

Neighbourhood

Super friendly neighborhood, we all share one large compound with shared facilities. Outdoor pool (with hot tub and kids pool separated), tennis, squash, and basketball courts. Indoor gym. Small grocery store (so convenient!) and dry cleaner on the compound. There is a restaurant in the clubhouse and you can order food for delivery from them or they can serve poolside.

Getting to my home

Fly into Doha International Airport (Hamad). We have a driver who could pick you up for about $25 and bring you to the compound if you wanted that arranged. Then you could drive our car during your stay (2009 Kia Sportage). Car itself is insured so no additional insurance needed.

Nearest airport

Hamad International Airport is about a 25 minute drive away.

Getting around

There is not much within walking distance of our compound, though there is a large grocery store with a 5 min drive (LuLu Al Messila). You will need a car (can borrow ours) and there is a wonderful and robust Metro/bus system to get around Doha. Uber is available. We could also arrange for a driver to be available for you at anytime (with advance notice) and drivers here are quite affordable. About $10-20 per ride.
