General overview
***I am currently travelling NZ/CHINA/RUSSIA etc... so my cottage won't be available until I return to Mexico early 2025. Feel free to reach out to me altho I have currently let my membership lapse so I can't reply ;) , I plan to renew soon***
Welcome to the pueblo magico town of Patzcuaro, known as the most beautiful town in the state of Michoacan, Mexico. A charming town with a mixed colonial and indigenous feel.
My cosy 2 bedroom cottage is nestled on the edge of a forest, private, secluded yet only a 5minute drive to central town (Centro) or a 10 walk to the main road where you can find public transport and shops.
If you love the outdoors and exploring nature whilst also enjoying Mexican culture, vibrant cafe culture and restaurants, street buskers in the plaza, local crafts and artisanal shops, museums and churches, meandering along cobblestoned streets, then this is a great place to be!
Lake Patzcuaro (Janitsio Island) is nearby, a 5 min drive or lovely 30 minute walk where you can take a boat to the incredible island, an absolute must see!
Morelia, the gorgeous capital city is only an hour drive by bus or car.
Archeological sites are nearby in neighbouring pueblo magico Tzintzuntzan, and Santa Clara, the copper artisan town is also only 30minutes by car, another pueblo magico! Uruapan, also a must see is about an hour away.
Patzcuaro is the epicentre of Day Of The Dead Celebrations.
Guadalajara, Zihuatanejo, Mexico City and many other holiday destinations and locations of interest are easy day trips away.
The space
Cosy 2 bdr cottage suitable for singles, couples or small families. Perfect for artists or writers retreat.
I have three cats (alto they may not be at the property)
Enjoy the front courtyard with stunning mountain, sunset and distant town views and relax in a hammock or patio style tables and chairs.
The two bedrooms have separate access front doors and another door leading to the lounge and kitchen area.
The main bedroom has two single beds pushed together to make a king bed. You can choose your configuration.
The second room can be used as a lounge room or second bedroom. It has a sofa lounge converted to a double bed and a dining table. This room has a large work desk area and large flatscreen TV with cable and internet access as well as Chromecast.
Both rooms have an ensuite decorated in tasteful Mexican style tiles, hot shower and toilet.
The cosy yet functional open plan kitchen consists of a 4 burner gas stove, microwave oven, fridge, coffee machine and all necessary cooking equipment.
Open plan along with the kitchen is the cosy main lounge area with a massive front window looking out to nature with a perfect view of the sun setting over the mountains. This space has recently acquired a gorgeous antique cast iron fireplace that is over 100 years old.
The entire cottage boasts ample natural sunlight as well as full curtains for those cosy days/evenings in.
The Wifi is superfast and super reliable!
This is not a luxurious cottage with all your mod cons - it's just sweet as.
Guest access
The hill/driveway leading to the property is quite steep, 5 min walk down, about 10 mins up.
There is on-site parking 20m from the cottage.
The entire property is gated and the electric gate comes with a keychain buzzer.
Hiking/forest trails can be accessed right here.
Notes
Weather:
Rainy season is chilly with LOTS of delicious rain which I love!
Winter the mornings are chilly so use the heater for that but the days are blue skies and sun. Crank up the fireplace!
Summer months are gorgeous, sunny, very warm but not sweaty and gross.
There is no AC in the cottage, it's not necessary.
There is a moveable standing heater.
Remote Working:
Perfect for remote workers and artists/writers retreat! Work desk, perfect Wifi, printer and the large flatscreen TV is possible to connect to your laptop or phone.

FYI I can get movin quickly if you're looking for last minute.
