Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is in a small village 20 minutes by car from the Moselle River and Luxembourg’s wine region. We are also very close to the Mutherthal for excellent hiking. Our village doesn’t have alot of amenities but in Grevenmacher and Wasserbillig, you will find shops open 7/7 and restaurants.
We are a 8 minute walk to the train line which will take you to Luxembourg city (30 minutes) or Trier Germany (also 30 minutes). All public transportation is free within Luxembourg.
There are lots of walking/hiking paths just out the door.
Nearest airport
Luxembourg airport is the closest airport and is 24 km away. It is a 20 minute cab ride or an hour by bus/train.
Getting around
Luxembourg has free public transport within Luxembourg (tram, bus, train). Although public transporatation is free, you might be more comdfortable with a car. To get to some of the more Northern parts of Luxembourg you might want a car.

Happy to meet up for drinks or dinner. We can offer suggestions of hikes, places to go and places to eat.
Beautiful house, very spacious and with a large garden. With space to park the car. And the house had everything necessary to make a very pleasant stay.
We loved our visit to Echternacht.
Del's house is great. Easy access to public transport. Amazing view of the city from the living room and bedrooms. Best part tho is Mr. Bigglesworth. Adorable, well behaved cat. We miss him already.
Del's and Lee's house is situated in a lovely neighborhood in Luxemburg. The home is spacious and very comfortable. Shops and restaurants are nearby. We loved taking care of friendly Mr. Bigglesworth who was especially fond of Peter. Peter enjoyed the company of his new furry friend. Within a few meters there are several bus stops which take you to downtown Strasbourg. Note: All public transport is free in this little country. This is such a wonderful thing! We enjoyed hiking in beautiful Mullerthal, one og the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. Don't miss it.
We had to postpone our weekend exchange since I got COVID. We hope to visit Del and Luxembourg in the future! Del was very understanding and kind, and all conversation was very friendly and nice.
It was such a pleasure to stay at Del and Lee's place. They have a lovely view with beautiful sunsets, a gorgeous cat and a spacious home. Luxembourg is great city to visit if you want something more low key. The surrounds are gorgeous with some lovely walks close by. Communication was super easy and always received a response. It was all hassle free. I would definitely recommend a swap with them.
Del took great care of our house. Clean and organized as we left it. Very happy we swapped with them.
All communication with Del went smoothly. She is friendly, generous, open and helpful. It was a pleasure to have Del and Lee as guests. They left the house spotless and took great care of our shy cats. It was a marvelous weekend exchange. I feel blessed to be part of PLU and to be able to experience those relaxing swaps. It was a real vacation only two hours from home.
We had to postpone our weekend exchange since I got COVID. We hope to visit Del and Luxembourg in the future! Del was very understanding and kind, and all conversation was very friendly and nice.
Del and Lee are the most wonderful home exchangers and it was such a pleasure having them to stay in our home. We had dinner with them the night before we left and it was such a pleasure getting to know them, that it was actually a bit disappointing to leave the next morning.
Del and Lee took amazing care of our home and also our cat, Pierre. They are devoted animal lovers, so please be assured your pet will be in good hands (if you have them). They also left our home spotlessly clean and kept our indoor and outdoor plants alive during a heat-wave, which was no easy feat.
Communication with Del and Lee was fantastic, as was everything about the exchange. We look forward to staying in touch!
We arrived home to a really clean place so they were obviously highly respectful of our place. I would definitely recommend a swap with them.
Ricardo and Jorge's house is very well decorated (with lots of plants) and has everything you would need. If you are driving (like we did) there is parking right near the house. The house is close to the train that goes into Amsterdam and runs twice an hour. Very convenient and easy to use the train. Also - you don't even need to go into Amsterdam if you don't want to. Zaanse Shans is close by and plenty of other cute places like Hoorn nearby.
We were very happy to be picked as Ricardo and Jorge's first exchange on PLU. Since we have a cat - Mr Bigglesworth, we always try and make sure people are comfortable with feeding him.
They were great guests - the house was in perfect condition when we came back and our cat was very happy to have someone to pay attention to him.
The communication before the exchange and during was great - very smooth and frequent.
We would be happy to have Ricardo and Jorge back at any time and hopefully will get to meet them in person at some point!
Thank you very much for your nice feedback.❤️
We would love to be able to come back to your house. We still have a lot of things to see.
I was very surprised by Luxembourg. I didn't know it'sssss sooooo beautiful. 🥰
And maybe we can meet one day 😃
I wish you a beautiful day
Ricardo.
First and foremost, communication with Thea was easy and seamless. She promptly answered all our questions prior to finalizing the stay. Upon arriving in Leuven, Thea had left us with a very through and detailed guidebook which answered any and all questions about the house and location and everything we need to know. She even provided suggests on places to shop and eat.
The property was clean and neat with all the things you would need for a comfortable stay.
The location was very convenient - not just for visiting Leuven but since we also had a car (and free parking in the driveway) we were able to go to Brussels as well and spend a day there as well.
Throughout the stay we were easily able to communicate via Whatsapp to ask any questions or recommendations of places to eat.
We enjoyed our time in Leuven - a lively little university town and am grateful to Thea for agreeing to the swap.
Thea and her family were great exchange partners. Easy communication and they took excellent care of our cat. He seemed very at ease when we returned (always a sign he was very happy).
The house as well was spotless - if I hadn't know better, I wouldn't have known we had guests staying
Camilla was a wonderful exchange partner. We got to learn more about each other and each other's houses through WhatsApp. Her house was very comfortable and clean with every amentity that you can think of. Her cats are beautiful and easy to take care of even though we didn't see much of them.
I appreciated the welcome basket and also the recommendations. Although we have been to Koblenz before, we had no idea how much there was to do nearby. We could have used more time (other than a weekend) to explore more. I look forward to more exchanges with Camilla and Peter.
I would highly recommend Camilla for an exchange partner.
Camilla and Peter were great guests. They sent pictures of Peter with our cat Mr. Bigglesworth and I can see how happy he was that they were there.
It was fantastic that Camilla sent pictures of her and Peter enjoying themselves in Luxembourg and hiking in the Mullerthal.
Upon return the house was spotless - like they hadn't even been there.
I look forward to swapping with them again and would recommend them as well for exchange partners.
We had a wonderful week at Kylie's house in Founex. First the house and location. Founex is a great little village about 20 minutes from downtown Geneva. It's very close to the lake (5 minute car ride to the beach or about a 25 minute walk). The house is very comfortable with all the amentities and is above/near a tasting room for a local vineyard. There is a little supermarket right across the street and the buvette (snack bar) at the beach on the lake is a great place to get a drink as well.
There's a lot to do in the area - Chamonix France is only an hours drive. We went there for a day trip and did some fantastic hiking and had a great lunch. we really enjoyed the Divonne France market on Sunday as well.
Pierre is a very sweet and easy going cat to take care of. We really enjoyed his company.
And last but not least - our lovely host Kylie. Kylie made us dinner and we shared a bottle of wine and made us feel very at home. We also really enjoyed meeting 2 of her children the next day before they left.
We can't wait to have Kylie and family visit next year.
We had a great time staying at Sarah and Carlo's place. The location was great - near public transportation (tram, bus) with lots of restaurants, a supermarket and even a canal nearby. Although we didn't use it - Sarah offered her Stand up paddle board. We did use the bikes though which were a great way to get around. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was very clean. Thank you Sarah! We really enjoyed our time and the Stroopwaffles and crackers were delicious.
Sarah was a great communicator - we exchanged questions with WhatsApp. She also took great care of our cat. We came home to a very clean house and happy cat. I would definately exchange with Sarah and her family again.
