General overview

Our home is in the small village of Glen Ellen, a place with two grocery stores, post office, bank, a bakery, wine tasting rooms, and numerous exceptional restaurants. Our house sits across the street from the fire house, at the top of a dead-end street with about twelve other family-owned homes. The village center is a quick 5 minute walk, as is the entrance to the pretty regional park with its trails and little lake. A mile further up the hill is the Jack London State Park, with the historic ranch house where the writer lived and wrote. We are a 15 minute drive south to the historic town of Sonoma, 25 minutes north to Santa Rosa, 30 minutes over the mountain range east into the Napa Valley, and 60 minutes to San Francisco. The ocean and coastal village of Bodega Bay is a 45 minute drive.

The space

Our house is small but very comfortable, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a sitting room with additional sofa bed. The main living space includes a kitchen with table seating area for 4 - 5. Also a living room with fireplace, adjoining dining room, and an upstairs full-size loft where we have our main tv. The loft also has a couch that opens into a full-size bed. A little "garden room" in the back yard is a separate place to sit and enjoy the quiet of the garden. It also has a couch that makes into a bed.

Guest access

Home is built on a slope with a basement where we have our washer and drier. The main house entry is on ground level. There is a loft area overlooking the living room with stair access. A back deck that is accessed through the sitting room overlooks the small back yard, and stairs lead down into it.

Notes

We have two bicycles and two lightweight kayaks that are available for use.
