General overview

Concord is a small, safe city of about 43,000 in the heart of northern New England. The house is less than a mile from Main St, the State Capital (oldest still in use), the farmer's market, the bus station, shopping, the YMCA Gym, the library, the theater, and other things to do. It is extremely quiet and only 2 blocks from the City's beautiful White Park. It is a cozy old Victorian with lots of charm and lush with plants. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a deck and backyard for pure relaxation. Please note that the stairs are steep and narrow. I do not use artificial scents or perfumes in the house which is good for people with allergies or sensitivities. There is a portable air conditioner upstairs to help cool when extremely hot. Here's a nice article by the Boston Globe... https://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/travel/2014/12/09/tank-away-concord/w5Nr60OyYD89rdh8xDN8EO/story.html

The space

My home is a modest old Victorian so rooms are smallish but comfortable. The kitchen is large for the size of the house. The living room has seating for 4. The two bedrooms each have a double bed (not a queen) and the bathroom is spacious. There is a back mudroom entrance with a half bath and laundry room next to the kitchen. There is a lovely porch ideal for prime bug season. :) There is an active veggie garden you may help yourself to.

Guest access

There are 2 floors with both bedrooms and full bath on the second floor. VERY steep stairs go up to the second floor. This is not ideal for everyone and can present a problem with very heavy luggage. The back door entrance does require several stairs to the deck and house.

Notes

We are in the middle of the beautiful state of New Hampshire. 2 miles from the house is the NH Audubon where you can see rare local birds and go on nice walks. Within less than an hour and a half you have the ocean, the lakes, the glorious mountains, Boston, Maine and Vermont. Portsmouth, our old port city, is an hour and a fantastic place (and has the best lobster!) Dartmouth College is an hour away in the village of Hanover with the Hood Museum. There is so much to do! There are lakes and rivers for swimming, boating, kayaking, camping (I have a full set of gear if you are interested) and many natural sights to see. Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the North East, is less than 2 hours away - the drive is beautiful. There are many rugged mountains to climb! https://www.visitconcord-nh.com/blog/2021/3/31/a-guide-for-first-timers-to-concord-nh?fbclid=IwAR2opGdxjP5jLwvOrkgEwaWD1gaeWlVRWbZ8bASmBIW0-AvJr1Gdume4jp8 Video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy1wKeQGDw4 https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/03/travel/new-hampshire-fall-guide.html?fbclid=IwAR3qRJ2UqPBCu2zdaTxjL0ThSZyYB6jhjaYCLTLvqylXPugcZ78Z2K80qxk

Neighbourhood

One of the best Pizza places and Korean sushi is one block away. White Park is 2 blocks away. Less than a mile to Main St. and also a mile to conservation land for walking in the woods!

Getting to my home

It is best to fly into Boston, Massachusetts. There is a direct bus from the Boston Airport to Concord, New Hampshire. My home is one mile from the bus station. You can walk or get a taxi. Super easy. There is also daily service from New York City. Google ... Concord Coach Lines for information.

Nearest airport

Boston is the nearest international Airport. There is Manchester New Hampshire Airport which is closer but need to rent a car.

Getting around

Normally the car is available but if I am traveling in my car, it will not be available. My home is within walking distance of beautiful Main St. with restaurants, theaters and things to do. The Concord Trailways bus (Concord Coach Lines) , a mile from the house, easily takes you to Boston and back with service almost every hour. Hop on the bus at Boston's Logan Airport and bus directly to Concord. There is also daily, direct bus service to New York City.
