Neighbourhood

(English below....) ****************** We live in a dead end, in the quiet of a small village located just 2 km from Haguenau and less than 30 minutes from Strasbourg. At the end of this impasse, fields as far as the eye can see... In our village you will find a bakery, a tobacconist - grocery store, a pharmacy... and 5 minutes by car, a large shopping center (CORA) with many shops around. Our village is an ideal starting point for visiting Alsace, the Vosges which are right next to it, but also Germany (regions of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland Palatinate). You can also push your discoveries to Luxembourg, Belgium or Switzerland. You will be able to discover places steeped in history, visit many historical sites and contemplate symbolic architecture in Alsace. For the most sporty and adventurous, our region is full of sports activities and wonderful hikes. And in the evening, after your busy days, you will find the calm, serenity and comfort of our house. Some ideas discovered in the region: - Haguenau, gateway to Northern Alsace, pretty little town on a human scale - Strasbourg, its Cathedral of Notre-Dame, the district of Petite France (very popular with tourists), the Ponts-Couverts, the garden of the two banks, the European parliament, the Rohan palace, the park of the orangery. .. - The Alsace wine route, discovery of a natural heritage - many castles such as those of Haut-Koenigsbourg, Hohlandsbourg, Haut-Barr, or why not the ruins of the castles of Fleckenstein - the Maginot line, the forts, the Alsace-Lorraine memorial or the concentration camps - Mont Sainte-Odile and Hohenbourg Abbey - picturesque villages like Seebach, Hunspach, Cleebourg, Kaysersberg and Eguisheim (voted prettiest village in France in 2013) - Colmar and the romanticism of its little Venice, the Saint-Martin Collegiate Church - the mountain of the monkeys, the volley of the eagles - Germany is only 10 minutes away with beautiful walks in the mountains of the Black Forest (+ skiing and winter sports; the first slopes 45 minutes from the house),... German cities such as Baden-Baden, Karlshruhe, Heidelberg..., spend some time at the famous amusement park "Europa park",... or simply relax in one of the many thermal baths in the region... - the Vosges mountains - and many other tourist sites such as: the concentration camps of Struthof, the inclined plane of Saint-Louis Arzwiller, the fort of Mutzig, Sainte Marie-aux Mines, the Lalique museum, the Northern Vosges, Dahnerfelsenland... and especially... don't leave without having tasted Alsatian gastronomy with its famous sauerkraut, its tartes-flambées (flammekueche), its baeckehoffe, without having charmed your palate with the pleasures of the Alsatian terroir! In short, your stay will be rich in discoveries!!! Paris, capital of France, is only 1h45 away by TGV, Germany only 10 minutes away, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium at 1h30... So, see you soon perhaps, for a pleasant stay. ****************** ENGLISH: We live in a dead end, in a quiet village located only 2 kms from Haguenau and less than 30 minutes from Strasbourg. Coralie & Ziya

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 14 year olds). Ziya (my husband), is a team leader in an industrial company. I work in an insurance brokerage firm. We were both born here, in Alsace, and grew up in this region dear to us. In September 2009, we had 2 children, Elza and Tom (yes, twins). Elza, very sweet and cuddly, loves animals. Tom himself, solitary and very curious, is passionate about manual activities and video games. Our children are very calm and respectful. We attach great importance to their education. We are also very concerned about our home and attach a lot of importance to it. Therefore, we really count on your seriousness. We will of course take the greatest care of your home. We are non-smokers and have 1 cat who spends a lot of time outdoors. We would be delighted to take care of your animals during our exchange. If you are a smoker, we thank you for smoking outside (as we ask our friends / family). Above all, we like to travel, discover new cultures, visit new horizons, meet new people. Our passion is to live happiness as a family, to enjoy every moment with our children, to discover (and make them discover) the world. We decided to embark on the adventure of home exchange at the beginning of 2015, hoping to be able to go on vacation more often, visit France (and abroad), and explore destinations to which we might not have not thought. With already 30 exchanges made and all 100% successful, it is only natural that we continue this wonderful adventure. We are open to all proposals, whether simple weekends, weeks or more.
