General overview
Our home is located on 2.5 acres in the tropical rainforest of Costa Rica in between the towns of Uvita and Ojochal. We are a 5-7 min drive from the nearest beach and are elevated enough to enjoy cool breezes and a lovely ocean view. We enjoy frequent visits from the native wildlife including monkeys, toucans, parrots, sloths, and coati.The property also has a trail winding through the forest to a natural swimming hole in a beautiful river. There is also a full size swimming pool on the property.
The space
Our home is the perfect place to enjoy indoor/outdoor tropical living and closeness to the natural world. Go to sleep to the sound of crickets and other night time creatures and wake in the morning to the sounds of the Howler monkeys and birds at dawn.
Our house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a large modern kitchen with granite counter tops, a spacious living and dining room and a big outdoor living room/covered patio. The patio is a perfect place to sip your morning coffee or tea and take in the ocean view and passing Toucans.
Next to the house you will find stairs down to a private swimming pool and just behind the pool a trail through the rainforest to the river and swimming hole we find magical.

Notes
Living in Costa Rica is not always paradise. Sometimes the electricity goes out (Sept/Oct) or there are water shortages(Feb/March). However, there is a back up water tank, candles, and flash lights. Internet connection is also subject to the weather patterns and can go out often during the rainy season.

Neighbourhood
Our house is up a dirt road winding through the rainforest. There are neighbors nearby, but each person has large properties and so it feels very private. The main highway is only a 5-7 drive from the house and the nearest restaurants or stores 8-10 away. The beach is also only 8 minutes away. The nearest hospital is in Cortes and a 30 min drive away. We are about 4 hours from the capital, San Jose, Costa Rica.
Getting around
You will need to rent a car, 4x4 is preferable in this area.
