Neighbourhood
Our town Vaucresson is both close to Paris and offering the atmosphere of a small city.
The neighboroughood is residential, safe and quiet. We know most of our neighbours, generally families with kids, teens or retired couples.
The area is very green. There is a small forest (foret de Fausses Reposes) just at the end of our street if you fancy a walk or a run, or look for a fully equipped playground for children. There are also other parks and woods accessible from the house, such as bois de Saint Cucufa or parc de Saint-Cloud.
There are also plenty of golf courses and horse farms/clubs within a 1-5km radius.
Getting around
We have 2 adult bikes and 3 small kid bikes that you can use.
If you come with your own car, it can be parked very easily in front of the house.
For food and everyday shopping:
You will find all sorts of shops 8-10 minutes walking distance or 3 minutes driving: bakery, butcher, chocolate shop, fine food, mini-market, some restaurants, pharmacy, cinema, etc.
Local market takes place on Thursday and Sunday mornings.
There is a supermarket 20 minutes walk / 5 minutes driving.
For tourist discovery:
Getting to the train station is a 8-minute walk. There are also various local buses departing or stopping from the station or closer to our home.
You can reach Paris in 20-30 minutes by train or by car. Versailles and its palace are a 10 minute drive by car, 15-20 minutes with the bus. Disneyland Paris is accessible with public transport in 1h30.
If you fancy going further away, by car:
Approx. 1h away:
Giverny with the house and garden of impressionist painter Claude Monet; Chartres and its cathedral
Approx. 2-3h away:
To the West: Normandy and its casinos and beaches: WWII D-Day as well as leisure, Etretat cliffs // To the South: Loire Valley castles: our favourites are Villandry, Chenonceau and Chambord, and there are many more // To the East: Reims and its cathedral and the Champagne vineyards in the countryside around // To the North: north of France with both the coast (baie de Somme, côte d'Opale, cap Blanc-Nez, cap Gris-Nez) and the cities such as Lille, Amiens, Arras, ...

Maud et Dominique
We are a French family with 3 kids aged 7,5 and 1 - on the picture travelling to Lake District, UK, with Dominique taking the picture in April 2018.
Both Dominique and Maud lived abroad when younger and kept an habit of travelling near and far, in France and abroad, with or without our children. We all enjoy it a lot.
We are now lucky to live in a big house near Paris since June 2018 so ready to offer it for home swapping starting summer 2020, to discover new places in France or abroad.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure.
