Neighbourhood

A beautiful community focused neighbourhood with great cafes, the best grocer with Tasmanian produce and fresh vegetables and meats. You can walk straight up to the mountain from here. Enjoy a tour or a beer at the historic Cascade Brewery just around the corner from our house. The world heritage listed Female Factory is also in walking distance. Picnic in the Cascade Gardens nearby or walk into Hobart along the path via the Hobart Rivulet. We are 10 minutes drive from Hobart's swimming beaches as well as the famous Salamanca Market which is open every Saturday. There are incredible day trips to be taken from here - to Mt Field, Bruny Island, Hartz Mountains and Hastings Caves. You can also use our home as a base and go off for a few days to stay at special places like the Freycinet Peninsula or Cradle Mountain, or do the 3 Capes walk. I can give you all the hot tips!

Getting around

Even though we have a bus stop 20 metres from our home, if you are wanting to explore beyond Hobart I would hire a car as there is incredible nature pretty close by. A bus into the centre of Hobart takes 5 minutes and they come by about every half hour.
