Neighbourhood
Portland is known for its incredible coffee, beer, and food culture. People are friendly and it's relatively safe. There are green spaces all throughout. Even though we live in downtown, it still has a very neighborhood feel to the area. Because we are close to the university, there is always something open and something happening! We are walking distance to the soccer stadium, housing our beloved Portland Timbers. But luckily we live on a quiet nook tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
Nearest airport
PDX--Portland International Airport is about 20 minutes away by car.
Getting around
The largest farmers market in the city is only 3 blocks away from our house, and the public transit is easy to use and close by. You can walk 20 minutes through downtown and hit up over 75 different food cart options, not to mention any cuisine you might want. There are also two grocery stores in walking distance, although another four or five grocery stores are a mere 5-10 minute drive. Powell's books--the most amazing bookstore that is a whole city-block is about a 20 minute walk.

We love traveling globally and immersing ourselves into the local culture. Our family is adventurous and fun, loves the outdoors, good coffee, and any food! Our family has traveled to many countries, and we are interested in new experiences and cultures.
Because of school and work, we generally are only able to travel over holidays and summer and some long weekends. But we do also like to pull the kids out to do a 2-3 week vacation during late winter.
