General overview

Our home in Taipei is right smack on the border of the two-most sought after (ie, expensive) districts in the city: Da'an, which is very popular with expat families and Xinyi, which is the hip and trendy center of the city.

The space

Top floor (12th) with a nice view of Taipei 101. Modern renovation. Spacious living area with 6-person dining table. AC inverters/outlets in every room. Washer + Dryer combo. Electric bicycle and electric scooter available for use. Bedroom #1 - King bed, ensuite bathroom with tub Bedroom #2 - Queen bed Bedroom #3 - 2 Twin beds Bedroom #4 - Office (tatami mat or air mattress could be available) Bathroom #2 - Shower. Also, the toilet has a very fancy Japanese bidet

Guest access

12th floor with an elevator. However there are about 8 steps at the front entrance to the building that cannot be avoided.

Notes

Cleaning fee is 1200NT (~40 USD). Additional cleaning can be requested from our very responsible housekeeper who charges 300NT/hour (~10 USD) Having lived here for a month now, I wanted to add a few notes about the property so that you can have a realistic idea of what it's like to stay here: -Master bedroom faces directly to a busy street, so there is a bit of street noise even at night. The rest of the house is pretty well-shielded from this. -You must walk up seven steps to enter the building. There is no way around this. -Kitchen is quite small and there is no dishwasher. But the space is functional. -The view of Taipei 101 from the master bedroom is nice (see the last photo) but the spectacular view (first photo) is actually from the rooftop. It is not a private space nor is there anything up there, but the view is nice if you wish to walk up one flight of stairs to take a look. -We have an electric bicycle and scooter which I believe are the best ways to get around the neighborhood. We are willing to make these available for your use, but please reach out beforehand so we can go over rules and tips for using them.

Neighbourhood

Great location about 10 minutes or less walking to: 1) Taipei 101 2) Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall 3) Linjiang St. Night Market 4) Taipei International Convention Center 5) Both the MRT Blue Line (Sun Yat-Sen Station) and Red Line (Xinyi Anhe Station) to get you to all parts of the city. 6) Plenty of major bus lines nearby as well, including a bus stop right in front of the building. There are also lots of U-bike stations all over central Taipei. In fact there is one across the street from our building and one on the same side of the street one block away. U-bikes are a very convenient way to get around if you can set up an account. We have tons of food recommendations so just ask if you want. We can also help get you set up with Uber eats delivery instructions so the drivers will drop off at your door.

Nearest airport

TPE - Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (50 minute drive or 1 hour and 20 minutes by subway + walking) TSA - Taipei Songshan Airport (15 minute drive or 30 minutes by subway + walking)

Getting around

All the stores for everyday needs are within a short walking distance. There are so many options for getting around! We have a bus stop directly in front of our entrance and a major bus interchange about 100 meters south of our building. Youbike 1.0 and 2.0 stations are available across the street from our building, and another Youbike 2.0 station is located one block south of our building. The MRT Red line is 500 meters southwest from our building. The MRT Blue line is 800 meters from our building. Uber is very reliable and affordable; typically 100-150NT to get anywhere in central Taipei, 300-400NT to travel 30 minutes away. Google maps is quite accurate
