Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is a very beautiful, quiet and lovely place with many families and middle-aged people, very open and friendly. There are many restaurants and shopping options. If it rains, you should pay a visit to our Factory Outlet Center in Montabaur or visit one of the many castles on the Rhine. There are two musts: Marksburg and Eltz Castle. There is a small lake 200 meters away and within two minutes you are in the forest. You can walk forever.
Our region is world famous for its ceramic tradition. So take a look at the artists and potteries in Ransbach-Baumbach and Höhr- Grenzhausen. In Höhr- Grenzhausen you will also find the Ceramics Museum, where you can learn more about the tradition but also find examples of modern technology in which ceramics play an important role. You can reach so many beautiful destinations within an hour! I think it's no problem to experience something interesting for at least a week.

There are two airports an hour away: Cologne/Bonn and Frankfurt am Main
Getting around
Shops and restaurants are approximately 1 km away. In general, where we live, you need a car. Public transport is almost non-existent.
The nearest airports are Frankfurt and Cologne (both an hour away).
There is a large train station in Montabaur.

We are Camilla (48) and Peter (51), editor at a local newspaper and accountant. We are a nice, quiet and a bit shy couple and we love our three cats. I'm half Danish so I'm always open to a trip to Denmark that allows me to see my family.
Home exchange allows us to travel a lot more than we used to, as we have found that our exchange partners are often very much in love with our four-legged friends and take good care of them.
We love beautiful landscapes, we love exploring supermarkets in other countries as we are real foodies. We also love wine and good beer. We enjoy hiking and swimming. We don't feel like lying in the sun and relaxing. We want to be on the road and see as much as possible in a new country.
We like to be away from home for a maximum of one week at a time. We would only make an exception for the USA and South Africa. Our favorite destinations are Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, UK (when we don't have to drive :-)), Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Denmark, Italy. We are open to everything.
