General overview
I love living in this apartment and I hope you will too. It's a true one-bedroom with all the classic prewar features. I love interior design and have worked hard to make my apartment cozy, inviting, and expressive of my personality. I have a full kitchen that's wonderful to cook in, and a bathroom with a bathtub -- a true luxury in NYC! The building is on a quiet street with a lovely park a few meters away, but it's also right across the street from the express train. This apartment, in this neighborhood, is a true New York experience.
The space
The apartment has a large living room with a dining table and two incredibly comfortable couches. There is an Apple TV (streaming, but no cable TV). The bedroom is spacious and has a classic NYC fire escape. The 20th-century heating system keeps the apartment very warm in winter. There is a washer/dryer in the basement of the building, and many laundromats with wash/fold/delivery service in the area.
Guest access
The apartment is on the 3rd floor (two flights up), and there is an elevator. While the building is wheelchair accessible, sadly my apartment itself is not optimized for wheelchair users.

Neighbourhood
This neighborhood in northern Manhattan has a lot of history. It's historically a Dominican and Jewish area, and has always been a hub for musicians and academics. We are right by the Columbia University medical campus, so there are lots of students as well.
The neighborhood is lively and authentic. There's a mix of colorful Caribbean culture and historical sites like Bennett Park (the highest point in Manhattan!) and Fort Tryon Park. We are also a short bus ride away from the Met Cloisters.
There are lots of Latin American restaurants two blocks away on Broadway, and Indian/Thai/French/Italian restaurants just a few more blocks away. There are several supermarkets a short walk from the apartment, and, of course, the entirety of what NYC has to offer is just a subway or bus ride away.
Getting to my home
The apartment is less than one block away from the A express train. The A train is best connected with JFK airport, although it is possible to access any of the area airports via public transportation.
Getting around
The neighborhood is far north in Manhattan, but with the nearby subway trains and buses you can reach virtually all parts of Manhattan easily. I am originally from Brooklyn, so I go to Brooklyn often to see my family, and it is an easy trip. Famous parts of Queens, such as Jackson Heights, are also easily accessible by subway.
