General overview
Due to very high rates of Covid in the community I am not arranging any exchanges until 2022.
My home is nestled in a beautiful birch forest. You will really feel like you are in the woods, yet close to town and services. There are trails for walking, running and cross-country skiing from the neighborhood. You'll love the location! 5 minutes to the University, 10 minutes from town and 12 minutes from the airport. A great jumping off point for your Alaskan adventures. Fairbanks is a great location to view the northern lights.
The space
The main house is 2800 square feet. It is a tri-level home and does have stairs to the main living area as well as master bedroom. The main level (middle level) has an open living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom with a tub/shower combination, and 3 bedrooms. One has a king bed, another a queen bed and a futon that makes a single bed (not very comfortable for adults), the 3rd bedroom is set up mostly as a recreational room with a pool table, dart board and TV, this room also has a single pull out bed (not comfortable for adults). In addition we have a queen size inflatable mattress.
The top floor is the master bedroom which has a king sized bed and TV. The master bathroom has a shower.
The lowest level is a garage, a area set up for an exercise space and the laundry room. We do have a small rental apartment on this level that is rented on a year long lease, the apartment also has access to the laundry room, but there is no access to the main house from the apartment.
Our home sits on 3 acres surrounded by birch trees. We have an outside deck with table that can be used in the summer, there is a grassy back yard and vegetable garden in the summer. We have a chicken coop and will leave you some fresh eggs. You will not be responsible for caring for the chickens. We do have dogs that will not be at the home during an exchange. We do have 1 cat.
Guest access
Guests will have access to all 3 floors with the exception of the apartment, as well as the yard and garden.
Notes
While we do have internet, it can be unpredictable at times and may not be adequate for anyone who needs it for video use for work or gaming.
We do not have cable or satellite dish (again no options). We do have Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu and Amazon prime . We have DVD players and we have some DVD's available.

Neighbourhood
We live in a quiet rural neighborhood yet are are close to town. We have walking, running and cross-country ski trails accessible from our neighborhood. There is a golf course 1 mile away which also has a restaurant and bar. There are no stores short
walking distance from our home. There is a gas station, convenience store, liquor store and some casual dining/coffee shops 2 miles from our house, and there is a large grocery store 4 miles away.
Nearest airport
Fairbanks International Airport 15 minutes away
Getting around
I recommend a car for visiting Fairbanks and the surrounding sites. There is a bus that has a stop a bit more than 1/2 mile away. We also have taxi, Uber and Lyft available. There are many tour companies that operate in the area if you don't want to adventure out on your own.
