General overview
This is an apartment located over the garage of our primary home. It has separate parking and a separate entrance.
The apartment has a bedroom with a desk for remote working and a separate living/dining space with a pull out couch (pulls out to an American sized double bed).
It has a full bathroom with tub & shower as well as a full kitchen with washer & dryer in the closet.
We primarily rent the apartment out to traveling medical staff and like to fit in swaps in-between. This means, we may not be able to plan more than a few months ahead.
The space
1 bedroom with a living/dining space, deck and full kitchen and bathroom. It has great natural light! The couch in the living room pulls out to an (American) double sized bed.
Guest access
It requires many stairs! The apartment has separate parking and a private entrance from the outside of our home. You have to walk through the garden to get from the parking to the entrance.

Neighbourhood
We live in a very safe & friendly residential neighborhood. Our neighborhood borders a land trust with over 6 miles of trails through the woods, farmland, blueberry fields and ponds. The farmland hosts a farmers market on Saturday mornings in the summer and fall. You can also walk to playgrounds and a sledding hill. We have bikes for adults with trailers for children, and you can bike into town in about 20 minutes (or drive in 6). We live in a small college town (Bowdoin College) and it has great restaurants, local stores and lots to do in nature!
Getting to my home
We highly suggest bringing or renting a car as public transport is minimal and Uber/Lyft rarely come out to us.
Nearest airport
Portland Maine airport is 30 minutes away. It is 2.5 hours to Boston by car & 3 hours by train (the train leaves from Downtown Brunswick).
