General overview

Our big family apartment is on the 7th floor. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and can comfortably sleep 8. It also has a large terrace on the south side overlooking a park where you can eat and relax in the sun. The Corvisart subway station is right in front of the entrance of our building. Our place is located in the heart of the lively and multicutural 13th arrondissement of Paris, only 3 minutes walk from the Butte-aux-Cailles and 10 minutes walk from the Chinese quarter.

The space

Our home has 4 bedrooms (3 with a double-bed, 1 with 2 single-beds), 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets (1 in a bathroom), 1 living and dining room, 1 kitchen, 2 balconies on the north side (overlooking the roofs of Paris, including the Montparnasse tower, the Pantheon, Port-Royal, the spires of Notre-Dame and the top of the Eiffel Tower), and a large sunny terrace on the south side (overlooking a nice little park) which becomes a real living space from spring to fall.

Guest access

There is a small staircase in the lobby of the building to access the elevators. Unfortunately, our apartment would not be good for wheelchair access. We live on the 7th floor of a 13-story building.

Notes

With a large family like ours (4 children aged 8, 10, 18 and 20 still under our roof), our house is as full of love as it is of stuff... and our closets are very full. For those who expect an empty and cold apartment, you might be surprised!

Neighbourhood

We live in the 13eme arrondissement of Paris (south-east). Our apartment is located at the foot of the Butte-aux-Cailles, a district famous for its bars and restaurants and its nightlife: it is the other Montmartre of Paris, without the tourists! The Butte-aux-Cailles swimming pool is one of the oldest and most pleasant in Paris, in Art Deco style. The Place d'Italie and its large shopping mall "Italie 2" are a five-minute walk away from our place. Just beyond that is the most important Chinatown in Paris, with a host of Asian restaurants and grocery stores. Every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday morning, you can shop for fresh produce at the large open-air market, typically Parisian, which is held at the bottom of our building and all along our boulevard (between Corvisart and the Place d'Italie) From the apartment, you can also walk in about 15 minutes to the quays of the Seine, the National Library of France, the Jardin des Plantes, the Mouffetard district, the Place Denfert-Rochereau (with its catacombs to visit), the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Quartier Latin, etc. It will take you less than a minute to get to the Corvisart metro station, which allows you to go everywhere in Paris.

Getting to my home

We don't have a car because our apartment is located in the center of Paris and is very well served by public transportation: the Corvisart metro station (line 6) is right in front of our place. If you arrive by plane at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, take the RER B to Denfert-Rochereau, then line 6 and get off at Corvisart (3 stops later). If you arrive by plane at Paris-Orly airport, take the special bus line "Orlybus" whose terminus is Denfert-Rochereau, then the same route as above. If you arrive by train, all stations in Paris are connected to the metro and you will easily reach us. If you arrive by car, take the ring road and exit at Porte d'Ivry or Porte d'Italie to enter Paris.

Nearest airport

Paris-Orly airport is located in the southern suburbs, 12 kilometers from our house. Paris-CDG aiport is 30 kilometers away in the northern suburbs (on the other side of Paris).

Getting around

We live right across the street from the metro!
