General overview
The Vista Sea Lodge is our family’s year round waterfront retreat on Puget Sound located midway between Olympic National Park and Mount Rainier National Park. It is a great place to curl up by the fire with a book, watch eagles and whales or porpoises through the wildlife scope or kayak on Puget Sound. We have a second home in Sonoma County California #10855 so we can often be flexible with dates. https://peoplelikeus.world/properties/10855
There is one nearby house, otherwise you are surrounded by forest and sea. We are is in a rural area (15 min to nearest small town, 20-25 minute to larger small town). If your dream is to stay in a house with the feel of a National Park lodge- that is the ambience (but with privacy).
The space
Master bedroom with California king bed (183cm) and full bath (tub and separate shower) on main level and two bedrooms and a second bathroom with shower upstairs. Upstairs second bedroom has a king bed (193 cm) and a twin bed under the eaves that is perfect for a child. There is also a third bedroom upstairs with a full bed (135cm) and a queen bed (153cm). We have a double inflatable bed and a pack and play for your use as well. The main living room downstairs is vaulted with ceiling height of about 18 feet (6m) and is an open plan to the dining area and kitchen. There is a wood burning stove (fireplace). Laundry room is also on main floor with washer/dryer. There is a wrap around covered deck on three sides of the house. Upstairs there is also an open loft area with a sectional sofa, television, and a small desk. There is a second smaller covered upper deck off of the upstairs loft with two chairs and amazing views- perfect for morning coffee. Stairs to pebble and stone beach for kayak or stand up paddle board/SUP access (we have both).
NOTE BEACH STAIRS LOST JAN 2022 in storm in process of engineering and permitting to replace and we can suggest alternative access by a trail through the woods.
We have a smart home with Alexa devices. We also have exterior security cameras operating 24/7.
Guest access
Three steps down from parking area to access main level with master suite on main level. Two story home. Flight of rather steep stairs to beach.
Note, all amenities (other than the television) are on main level, so if you can manage three steps down, the home is accessible to those with some mobility limitations.
Notes
House is approximately 2400sq feet or 220sq meters
We have Wifi over cellular, so it is NOT unlimited speed/ downloading. Fiber is being installed, but is not yet available (likely late 2024).
I try to keep the calendar updated, but life… if not marked unavailable feel free to inquire. We also have a home in California wine country on PLU. https://peoplelikeus.world/properties/10855
NOTE- storm and high tide with large debris destroyed our beach stairs in Jan 2022. We are working with engineering and permitting to replace but beach access stairs are currently gone!

Neighbourhood
One neighboring home in sight, otherwise forest and water (saltwater front on south Puget Sound). We are about 3miles by car from a marina with boat launch and moorage, across the water directly is another marina and a state park (1/2 mile paddle). There us abundant wildlife - we occasionally even get orcas, but more commonly porpoise, seals, deer, eagles and such. It is about a 15 minute drive to a large lake (Mason Lake) and 30 minutes to Hood Canal and Alderbrook resort if you long for some fine dining or spa services. Gig Harbor and Olympia are each about a 45 minute drive. Also, you can drive about 45 minutes to Bremerton where a ferry takes vehicles and passengers directly to Seattle - a great way to get there that is an adventure in itself.
Getting to my home
Car is required - no reasonable public transit.
Nearest airport
Closest airport is Sea-Tac (SEA- between Seattle and Tacoma) Is about 1hr20 min drive from house.
