Neighbourhood

Although we can’t claim that the house provides absolute solitude, we are on the edge of a small village so traffic is minimal and passers-by are limited to friendly neighbours who smile and nod on their way past, or pause to exchange pleasantries. The village of Holt has everything you are likely to need within walking distance – a very well stocked village shop, three pubs (one of them in particular, just across the border to England, serves fantastic food), two coffee shops / bistros, an Indian restaurant, chippie, fantastic garden centre with gift section and restaurant, a hairdressers, barbers shop and an award winning day spa. A few minutes walk can take you either to the banks of the River Dee, or into beautiful countryside. This is the perfect location for anyone wanting a restful opportunity to do very little whatsoever.

Getting around

For those who want to do a little more than stay local and relax, we are perfectly positioned on the Welsh/Cheshire/Shropshire border and within easy reach of day trips to the beautiful North Wales coast and castles, Snowdonia, Chester, Manchester, Liverpool, the historic market town of Whitchurch, Shrewsbury, Ironbridge – the list really is endless.
