As we have two children we like the area because a five minutes walk will lead you to the fields and surrounding forest, with local farms, where you can buy produce all year round, as well as see lots of farm animals. The kids can run around as they please, as this walk is pedestrians only. The city of Zurich is at your doorsteps with its rivers and lake, as well at the local mountain, Uetliberg. Uetliberg is a fantastic outing in winter, (sledging!) you can either walk up through the forest or take public transport to go up.
3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living space and a balcony with a sofa and table with four chairs. Sleeps 6 (plus one 140x60 cm mattress that can be put on the floor).
Wheelchair access, lift to apartment.
Bus station in front of house. We have a brand new piano and prefer it not to be played on, unless of course you know how to play it, then you are most welcome :)
Where we live you have walking distance to everything, like shopping etc. The station (Oerlikon) is just a 10 minutes walk, where a variety of shops are also open daily. Lots of playgrounds, a nature reserve (Katzensee) is close by, as well as a farmers market, every Wednesday and Saturday.
Our Flat is situated very close to the amazing swiss public transport, Oerlikon station, which is the sixth largest station in Switzerland. Trains to Basel, Lucerne etc are leaving multiple times per day. From Oerlikon, the main Zurich station is just 5 minutes away, 10 minutes from the lake of Zurich. The airport is just a 10, 15 minute drive (or you can take public transport which is about 20 minutes). Zurich is in the middle of Switzerland. Basel, Bern, Lucern and St Gallen are just an hour by public transport from the main station. Geneve is three, Milano about 4 and Rome 6, Munich 4, Paris 4. You can also rent a car at Europecar, they are quite close to our place, however I really recommend to use the public transport system here. Buses/trams run every 7 minutes and trains to the big cities every 30 to 60 minutes.
