Nedlands is excellently placed between Fremantle, Perth's finest beaches and the city. It is a leafy suburb close to the Swan River and Kings Park. Perth is a lovely compact city providing world class dining and lifestyle experiences. We are an excellent base to explore the city and surrounds, plan a trip to Rottnest Island to visit the quokkas, visit Fremantle and learn about the history of the convict population. You can learn about the local Noongar people and their culture over cooking classes and walks or a day trip out to the Swan Valley to sample wineries, chocolate factories, breweries, ice creameries and visit wildlife parks. The Perth Observatory provides an excellent opportunity to reach for the stars and observe the world beyond us. The Perth Zoo is less than 15 minutes by car and on the banks of the stunning Swan River where you can enjoy the city views, ferry rides, paddle board, ski ... possibilities are endless. Day trips are also possible to visit the Darling Ranges and undertake a plethora of walks and hikes in the bushland that is home to stunning wildflower displays during September. The Bibbulmun Track is also an option for those who enjoy trekking. Further afield is the Pinnacles, a possible day trip but better enjoyed over a weekend or as part of a larger trip to visit the wild north. If you are feeling adventurous, a trip up north is life changing. The red dirt (pindan) contrasted with white sandy beaches and the turquoise ocean leaves an indelible mark on your memory. Fishing charters abound, and you can get up and close with whale sharks in Ningaloo - though this is a much longer driving trip unless you choose to fly! The Margaret River wine region is infamous, as is the coastline "down south". A perfect weekend away will see you sample the best wines and delights WA has to offer, and observe (or take part in) surfing and other water pursuits. Conveniences: Easy access to retail shopping, indoor and outdoor movie theatres, sporting complex, restaurants, cafes, picnic/BBQ areas ... all within walking distance. We are also within one kilometre from Perth's major university (UWA) and teaching hospitals.

Getting around

Accessible by public transport (buses and train). Buses run every 5-10 minutes into the CBD (4km away), Fremantle (11km) Cottesloe beach (5km). Bicycle pathways are excellent, scenic ride into the CBD along the Swan River, or in the opposite direction along river or ocean to Fremantle, Cottesloe Beach. Everything is accessible by bike.
