The mani is renowned for its stone towered houses. The village of Flomochori is suberb with its pretty cobbled alleyways.
There is a taverna opposite the house which is open some of the summer months. There is also a coffee-shop which is found in Flomochori square. Souvlaki and other Greek food is served in the evening. Snacks are served at midday.
A small van selling fruit and veg passes most days and so does the breadman.
The nearest beach boasts two ouzeries/cafeterias where one can taste real octopus-meze, squid and drink ouzo, whilst taking-in the beautiful picturesque scenery of Kotronas Bay.
The beach is only a few minutes away by car and you can even walk there if you want to enjoy the scenery. Other beaches can be found all along the coast, which is an adventerous drive and interesting excursion.
The historic town of Areopolis is only 15 minutes by car with tavernas and souvenir shops and the pretty harbour of Githio is approximately 35 minutes away. Githio offers plenty of fish tavernas all along the harbour, which is delightful when lit-up during the evening.
The famous caves of Dirou are also only about 15 minutes away.
A car is needed to get around, as buses are few and far between.
