Hi from the heart of Cowboy Country--Elko, Nevada! Our region has a history steeped in rich western tradition and is best known for gambling, gold mining, ranching, railroading, pioneer history, mountain recreation, Basque culture, and its current title as the "Cowboy Poetry Capital of the World!"
We invite you to our much-loved home--large at 6000 sq ft., but filled with lots of cozy spaces--even a couple will feel comfortable and at home here. You're sure to enjoy our family room with large screen TV and Infinity Massage Chair (our friends pretend they're coming to visit us, but we know they're really coming to sit in our chair ;-). We love to cook and entertain and our fully-equipped kitchen has a wonderful Wolf stove guaranteed to bring out your inner Julia Child or Bobby Flay. Our pool is a wonderful place to play and is generally open mid-May through September. Because it's not fenced or covered, children who stay need to be older, well-supervised, and able to swim. Our beds are comfortable, with quality linens and pillows, and include a king (master), 3 queens, and a twin. We have our home professionally cleaned several times a month and you can expect a space clean and tidy in preparation for your arrival.
Our home is three floors. The master, twin, and two queen bedrooms are on the top floor, along with the master and guest bathrooms. There is a half bath on the main floor. An additional queen bedroom is on the ground floor, along with an additional full bathroom and gym equipment.
Because this is our primary home and our youngest son is in school, we are mostly limited to simultaneous swaps around the school holidays at this time. June is the best month for us--July and August are difficult because they're busy months at our tow business. We love short swaps! Three to seven days work great for us.
Our neighborhood is very friendly and walkable but guests will want a car to experience all of the culture of our area. For those who like to gamble, we have three local casinos.
The closest international airport is in Salt Lake City, Utah, but we have a small airport served by Skywest (Delta Connection) in Elko. We also have train service via Amtrak.
