General overview

I'd love to get over to Europe during my summers off (I'm a high school music teacher!) My home is perfect for family-home swaps for families with school-age kids (not toddler-proof anymore). You'll find a large farmhouse with tall ceilings, wood floors, huge sun-filled windows for our mild Pacific NW summer weather, three bedrooms on the second floor, a large gourmet kitchen, big backyard with garden, patio, and hammock, and a quirky fun neighborhood center just a few blocks from the house.

The space

Living room with TV and X-box, dining room can seat 6, kitchen fully stocked for cooking, three large bedrooms upstairs (one double, one queen, and one king) plus bathroom, an office/piano room, and garage with bicycles. Plenty of on-street parking and bus service one block away.

Guest access

Two-story house, two entrances, spacious backyard with garden and patio and hammock, plenty of parking, three bikes

Notes

There is a basement apartment down below the house currently rented by a wonderful recent college grad. She has her own entrance but you will have to coordinate laundry sharing.

Neighbourhood

St Johns neighborhood has it all: cute boutiques, a library, three grocery stores, a brewery, coffeeshops, and a beautiful park underneath our famous St Johns bridge crossing the Willamette river. Forest Park--the largest urban forest has miles and miles of hiking trails--is on the other side of the bridge. River access in the summer means you can paddleboard or rent a speedboat. Downtown Portland is a short 15 min drive or 30 min bus ride away. We are a fantastic biking city as well and I have three bicycles you are welcome to use during a swap.

Getting around

Just a few walking blocks to our neighborhood center. Groceries just two blocks away.
