Recently renovated 2 storey family house (180m2) with kitchen + cosy living room + eating place, new bathroom, 3 bedrooms, small outside, ... Our bikes are available, walking distance from small shops and from supermarkets, very close to public transport, easy bikesharing Villo!, ...
We bought our house in 2012 and (almost) fully renovated it. We did everything to bring back the charming character of this turn-of-the-century landlord house, with high ceilings, authentic wooden floors, etc... We're not completely there yet (budget reasons) but the house already has everything we need. So don't look at all the details!
We have 3 large bedrooms (one with double bed and two with single bed). In the guest room we put a modular seat, to create a second double bed. There's definitely a possibility to create more places to sleep if needed. A baby bed (travel version) is also available.
Our bathroom has a shower, bath, double bins, toilet, central heating, ... For rainy days the kids have the second floor for themselves and the bigger children's room has a nice mezzanine.
We have done over home exchanges with the Homeexchange platform/website, but since the site merged with another company we feel it got to commercial and we heard from other home exchangers that People Like Us has a more personal touch, which was exactly the reason why we joined Home Exchange 5 years ago.
Suitable for infants under 2
Suitable for children ages 2-12

Our house is located in a quiet but lively and very diverse neighbourhood, on 20 min walk from the North Station of Brussels. Close to the city centre but also at biking (or bus or train) distance from the green belt around Brussels. There is a very nice and authentic parc (Parc Josaphat) at 5 min walk; at the same time you're at the Grand Place in the city centre in 10 min.
Our house is at 30 min walk from the Grand Place, the City Centre and the Central Station of Brussels. The tram (every 10 minutes at 500 meters from our house) takes you there in 10 minutes. Our car is also available if needed, but not really necessary inside Brussels.
Our house is located more specifically in Schaarbeek, one of the 19 municipalities op de Brussels Region. We're in a quiet street next to the City Hall of Schaarbeek in a residential quarter with nice turn-of-the-century houses and a very diverse population. We live very close to the beautiful 19th Century Josaphat parc (with 'Bridge of Love' and the 'Well of two lovers'...), perfect for a good stroll and a nice beer in La Buvette.
Public transport (tram, bus, metro) is very near and brings you everywhere in Brussels Region and Belgium. Grand Place, Manneken Pis, Atomium, cosy and lively/active city centre with international museums, parks, interesting city walks in more popular areas, European Quarter (European Parliament and Commission, the public Parlementarium), ... One ticket of 1,7 euros brings you everywhere for one day in Brussels.
You can also use the very accessible bikesharing-system Villo! that has drop of-points almost everywhere in Brussels.
Outside Brussels (other cities in Belgium worth a visit):
Bruges (1 hour by train)
Ghent (30 min by train)
Antwerp (30 min by train)
Belgian Seaside/Coast (1u15 min by train) - our favorite city = Ostend!
Direct tramway to Brussels South train station, the starting point of Thalys (to go to Paris) of Eurostar (to go to London).
Needless to say that Brussels is in the heart of Europe: train trips to everywhere in Europe for example are easy.
