Our home is just outside the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro area, combining privacy of a small and rural neighborhood with accessibility to almost anything you need.
Our neighborhood, called Enclave, is made of homes built between 2008 and 2018. There are a little over 100 houses, offering a neighborhood feel (quiet area with friendly neighbors) a couple miles outside of the town of Prior Lake and an easy 30-minute highway drive to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Our location offers neighborhood serenity away from the traffic and busy-ness of the city itself. About a 5-minute walk down the path right behind the house leads you to a neighborhood playground for kids - it has swings, climbing equipment, a basketball hoop, a covered picnic table, etc. Walking 5 minute the other direction brings you to walking/jogging trails around Cleary Lake (https://www.threeriversparks.org/location/cleary-lake-regional-park). Clearly Lake Regional Park (a beautiful 30-minute walk along the trail or a 5m car ride) is on these walking trails, and offers a swimming beach, canoe & kayak rentals, picnic tables, sand volleyball courts, a driving range & golf course, and campgrounds. The park also hosts many outdoor activities for children and adults so you can stay active outdoors during your stay.
Several very nice golf courses are all within a 10m drive of our house: https://www.google.com/search?q=prior+lake+golf+courses
An easy 5-10 minute car drive will get you to nearly any store, pharmacy, restaurant, etc you could ask for - including the Mall of America!
We love the convenience to the city and to nearby parks. We have access to busy-ness or serenity, as we choose it.
We have a reliable 4-door car (2014 Hyundai Sonata) to offer in a car exchange. It is very easy to drive around this area, as it is on the very outer edge of the suburbs, so there are wide roads and not a lot of traffic. Driving to the Mall of America, to the airport, or to Minneapolis or St. Paul are easy drives, as well.
Regional attractions: Mississippi River runs through Minneapolis with boat tours, etc, Mystic Lake Casino is a 10m drive away, Canterbury Horse Racing Track with its poker room is a 15m drive away, Valley Fair is a fantastic amusement park with great rides a 15m drive away, Duluth is a popular "northern" city to visit and is a 3h drive, the Boundary Waters (10h drive), "Up North" lakes and cabins (3h drive), Chicago (5 hour drive or $100-$150 flight), Badlands and Mount Rushmore of South Dakota (10h drive), Dallas / Phoenix, Florida, etc are as low as $125 flight ticket certain times of year.
The center of Minneapolis is a 30-minute drive from the house. An easy daily commute for many professionals. Minneapolis has...so much to do. Top notch restaurants, old-town boutique shopping, broadway-caliber performing arts, sporting events (watch The Minnesota Twins play baseball on their outdoor field!), lots of small "town festivals" in neighboring towns almost every weekend, high quality art exhibits and museums, The Mall of America with its indoor rollercoasters.

My wife (Tonya) and I are "midwesterners", born and raised in Minnesota, USA. We grew up in small rural towns before moving to the Minneapolis city area about 8 years ago. We love meeting new people and trying new food. We enjoy adventures, local or across the world.
We have some time away from work this year and next and are excited to visit new cities around the world. In our recent time off, we have traveled 5-week spans each in Europe and Southeast Asia, with many prior trips to India, South and Central America and various travels elsewhere. We enjoy traveling and getting time to appreciate local cultures. We are not picky about the accommodations we exchange for - house, apartment, anything else. We are pretty much comfortable with almost any type of lodging. We are also very open to almost any location - we are just looking forward to experiences in more places that this wonderful world and its wonderful people have to share with us.
While we are new to HomeExchange, we have an exemplary reviews history on AirBnB. We are grateful for this opportunity!
"We would love to exchange:
1) Across the world for 1-5 weeks at a time
2) Within a 10-hour-ish drive from Minneapolis for 4-14 days at a time
3) Within a 10-hour-ish drive from Minneapolis to swap from time-to-time like a "virtual 2nd home""
