Neighbourhood
Our neighbourhood is located halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland. Our acreage property is in a quiet area in the countryside. Surrounded by an abundance of native trees and wildlife you will never have a problem winding down after a day of exploring beautiful Queensland. If you are into hiking, mountain biking or maybe just having a beer or wine, Tamborine Mountain is a 30 minute drive away. It’s hiking trails through the national park take you through an amazing ancient rainforest with spectacular views from the many lookouts and waterfalls or you can take the easier option of horse riding trails or soar across the rainforest canyon on a zip line tour. About an hour’s drive from our home is the world famous Gold Coast beaches. Whether you go to Surfers Paradise or a little bit south to Burleigh Heads you are guaranteed fun in the sun, surf and sand. After dark the nightlife is amazing at the many restaurants, bars or if you like to get your dancing shoes on the nightclubs along the glitter strip. For those travelling with children the Gold Coast has 4 action packed theme parks. Dreamworld, Movieworld, Seaworld and wet n wild water park. The kids no matter what there ages will no doubt have the time of their lives visiting any or all of these wonderful attractions. A 40 to 50 minute drive from our home is Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. Brisbane is called the river city with no beaches but beautiful walkways stretching for kilometres up and down the river or if you feel like relaxing you can get on the citycat which is a passenger ferry that floats along the river with awesome views of the city. Brisbane is a very cultural city with museums, arts centre, markets and diverse restaurants also a lively nightlife exists with its many bars and street festivals. For the kids South Bank is the place to go in the warmer months. It is an artificial lagoon in the heart of the city and is quite surreal laying on the sand or swimming with the kids surrounded by high rise buildings. With playgrounds adjoining the lagoon and swimming pool the young ones will be entertained for hours and for the teenagers there are electric scooters for hire which makes for an exciting journey around the river walkways.
Getting to my home
You can fly into Brisbane airport or alternatively fly into Coolangatta airport which is at the southern end of the Gold Coast. The easiest option is Brisbane airport as the public transport is more readily available with trains, buses and the option of hiring a car.
