General overview
Our home is a very bright and airy, child-friendly, 4 bedroom house in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood within a short driving distance from major attractions in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The family room has a large TV with a FireTV stick. There's a large sofa and a moonpod beanbag. The kitchen island has 2 bar chairs, and a separate dining room with a full dining table and 6 chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 6-burner stove, Miele steam oven and conventional oven, Breville convection oven, microwave oven and Vitamix blender.
The master bedroom contains 2 reclining beds side-by-side (combined size is same as a California king). Both beds can be controlled with separate remotes. Two other bedrooms both have queen size beds. The last bedroom is currently used as an office, but can easily be set up with an airbed.
We are the parents of a 5 year old, so the living room is currently used as a playroom, with rubber floor mats, a painting easel, and a kid's drawing/writing desk. There are plenty of toys and books.. These can be stowed away in a closet as well, depending on your needs. 2 high chairs are also available (a Peg Perego for younger toddlers, Stokke for older toddlers and kids).
The home has a washer and dryer, and has central air conditioning and heating. There is a Yamaha electric piano, and a Peloton exercise bicycle. The master bath has a Toto bidet-style toilet.
My wife and I both work from home, and we both have home-office setups which are available for your use - just bring your own laptop. One desk is in the guest bedroom, with dual 27-inch monitors. Another bedroom is set up as a dedicated office and contains a 60" wide desk, with a 32" monitor.
We also have a large, private, professionally landscaped back yard with a patio table and 6 chairs, and a charcoal bbq.
The space
House sits on a 13000+ sq/ft lot with a beautiful, professionally landscaped backyard with patio area, outdoor dining table set, bbq.

Neighbourhood
We live in the San Francisco Bay Area city of San Ramon. This is a quiet, peaceful area with lots of parks, hiking trails, biking trails, as well as many dining and shopping options. We are 35 miles from downtown San Francisco, and about 25 miles away from the cities of Berkeley and Oakland. The city of Walnut Creek is about 12 miles away. Napa Valley and its wineries are a short 50 miles to the north. Livermore is an up-and-coming wine area and is 15 miles away. Yosemite National Park is about 140 miles to the east. This would be a perfect place to base a San Francisco Bay Area vacation, being close to urban centers without the safety, noise, and parking headaches.
Bishop Ranch is a new dining/shopping center just that's minutes away:

Walnut Creek downtown is also fairly close and has a large array of dining/shopping options as well:

Pleasanton and Dublin ore both nearby cities with active downtowns and lots of dining options.

The Pleasanton/Dublin BART (metro) station is also a convenient way to access other parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. Daily parking at the station is $3.

Our home is in a very safe residential neighborhood, and is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, away from the busy streets, so it is very peaceful and noise-free.
Getting to my home
From Oakland Aitport or San Francisco International Airport, car is the main option. We are also a 15 minute drive from the BART (train) station in the city of Dublin. You can take Uber from the BART station to the house.
Nearest airport
Oakland Airport is a 30 minute drive away. SFO is a 45 minute drive away.
Getting around
You will probably want a car to get around. The nearest grocery store is probably a 20 minute walk. By car, Safeway (large grocery chain) is 5 minutes away. There are many restaurants/shops within a 5-10 minute drive.
San Francisco is a 45 minute drive. Oakland/Berkeley/San Jose are 30 minute drives.

We are a couple in our 40's with a 5 year old daughter. My wife was most recently working in the banking industry, but is currently taking a career break. I am a software professional, currently working remotely, and we are looking for opportunities to work from and visit remote locations while the company still allows this flexibility. We're only looking for simultaneous exchanges.
My parents live in Brooklyn, New York, so we're open to exchanges in that area, as well as most other interesting international locales!
Also interested in short exchanges within driving distance from the SF Bay Area - Monterey, Carmel, Tahoe, to name just a few.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
