You can find everything you need in a walking distance : indoor and outdoor market, food shops, pharmacies, bakeries, decoration and fashion shops, cinema and of course the Palace and its gardens. The train station to Paris is 7 minutes walk from our house.
Versailles is 16 kms away from Paris. We live in the historic heart of Versailles, very close to the Palace and its park (3 minutes walk). All the amenities are two minutes walk from the house : shops, market, supermarkets, cinema. The district also proposes some nice restaurants around the market. The Versailles Palace was built during the 17th century. It was the residence of kings of France Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI. The Palace and its gardens, designed by Andre Le Notre are really worth visiting. In summer, "les grandes eaux musicales" and "les grandes eaux nocturnes" (big musical and night-waters) in the Palace gardens will allow you to see all the fountains put in water and in light with magnificent fireworks. The list of things you can do in Paris is very long too...and only 30 minutes from our home : Louvre museum, Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, the Champs Elysées, Orsay museum... The Loire's Valley castle can be reached by 2h -2h30 drive : Chambord, Chenonceau, Cheverny, Amboise, Langeais, Villandry...
