Bonaire is a small tropical island (294km2) near the coast of Venezuela. Bonaire is part of the Caribbean Netherlands (together with Saint Eustatius and Saba). With the countries Aruba, Curacao, Saint Martin and the Netherlands they form the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Bonaire is famous for its diving, snorkeling and watersports, but Bonaire has much more to offer, e.g., dining, boating and sailing, fishing, hiking or just plain relaxing. The currency on Bonaire is the American dollar. Dutch, Papiamentu, English and Spanish are spoken all around.
At the moment we are looking for an exchange with the Netherlands in June/July 2022.
Der Raum
Our house is in a suburb of the capital Kralendijk, called Antriol, approximately 1 km from the sea. The house is very comfortable and spacious. It has two bedrooms, the master bedroom on the ground floor with adjacent bathroom (toilet and shower) and the guest room on the first floor with adjacent bathroom (toilet and shower). A third bathroom is next to a workspace on the ground floor and also accessible from the back porch. There are two large, covered porches, one in the front with a carport and one in the back with an extra kitchen. We also have a nice garden full of trees and plants. Since 2020 we installed a nice swimming pool.
Gastzugang
There is a ground floor and first floor with a wooden staircase in the living room. A small, uncovered balcony/terrace accessible by concrete stairs. Access to the living room, master bedroom, kitchen and workspace from the front porch is good, but you must go down a couple of steps from the back porch to the back yard. The swimming pool is well accessible.
Anmerkungen
The currency on Bonaire is the American dollar. You can pay with your debit card everywhere (set the card for world use with your bank) and in most of the restaurants, car rentals and some shops you can use your credit card. We have wall outlets throughout the house for both 110 V/50Hz and 220 V/50Hz. The tap water is perfectly drinkable, you don't need to buy water in bottles, please help us reduce plastic waste.

The center of Kralendijk with shops, restaurants, entertainment etc. is at 5 minutes by car. The large supermarkets at 10 minutes by car and the airport at 15 minutes. You can find more information at https://www.tourismbonaire.com/
Zu mir nach Hause kommen
From the airport it is 10 minutes with a taxi. If you come a day before we leave, we will pick you up, of course.
Rumkommen
You'll need a car to get around, as public transport is not adequate. We have a 2021 Changan CS15 for your use, except for a visit to the Washington/Slagbaai Park.
