Gesamtübersicht
Le Moulin du Clapier is a former french Manor House and is set in the beautiful Dordogne countryside of South West France. We are surrounded by fields and farms with only one direct neighbour opposite.
The house was originally built in the early 1600s and served as a flour mill. The old windmill can still be found in the woods not far from the house. Over the years the Moulin du Clapier has served many purposes and was even used as a field hospital during the second world war.
Today, the house is currently unused and we hope to lovingly restore it in the next couple of years and move to the area to live for part of the year. Right now, we live and work in Zurich and try to visit the property as often as time allows.
This is our happy land and we originally bought the Moulin around 7 years ago and have already undertaken a substantial renovation.
What we offer are two cottages which we also rent out to paying guests for long and short term lettings. We completed the renovation on the cottages a few years ago and have guests stay from around the world and would like to take advantage of being able to give PLU members access to either or both of the cottages depending on the requirements.
We have the possibility of including a car in the exchange as this will be required for staying in the area as it is very rural. Equally, we don't accept PLUs exchanges during July and August as these are our prime weeks for short term lets although we would accommodate a last minute request if we had the space available at the time.
Der Raum
The smaller gite has two bedrooms one of which is in a converted attic boasting low ceilings, beautiful restored beams and a free standing bathtub.
The second property has three bedrooms and has a very nice living space.
Both of the properties have a bedroom and family bathroom downstairs as well as a wood log fire. There is also plenty of outdoor space for dining, chilling and BBQs.
To see full details of the Gites please see our website which is lemoulinduclapier.com. We also have additional photos here and a more detailed description.
Gastzugang
As we don't live at the house full time we provide access through a keypad system which allows access to the main key to each of the Gite doors.

We are adventure travelers and love to visit new places around the world whilst participating and competing in Triathlon. We have used Triathlon as a way to see parts of the world that we might not otherwise be tempted to visit.
We also have two teenage girls who live in the UK and like to travel with them for two weeks each year ideally in summer or at Easter.
